這首由美國老牌福音歌手Ray Boltz於1988年的創作詩歌；曾在1990年獲得全美福音歌曲金鴿獎〈GMA Dove Awards〉。 這首敘述詩描述的是一個兒童主日學的老師，在天國所遇見的經歷。詩歌告訴我們，今日所播的種子，或許不能見到立即的收成，但在未來的某一天，也許將會獲得意想不到的果效。作為神的兒女，在地上默默地忠心為主作工，縱然如何微不足道甚至無人知曉，但沒有一件不被主記念的。正如馬太福音裡主耶穌所說：「這些事你們既作在我這弟兄中一個最小的身上，就是作在我身上了。」天國的賞賜是賜給那些不計較報償而甘心服事的人。

「以利亞」這名字可譯作「耶和華是我的神」；但也可譯作「耶和華是我的力量」。這是他生命得力的關鍵。神是他生命的力量，他還怕誰呢？那作惡者就是他的仇敵，前來吃他肉的時候，就絆跌仆倒。雖有軍兵安營攻擊他，他的心也不害怕。這個名字給了我們多大的啟示！但願他適用於我們每個人！讓我們從今以后停止用自己的力量，因自己的力量充其量仍是軟弱的；讓我們每日每時都支取神的力量。所以我們今后生活的標語應該是：「公義，能力，惟獨在乎耶和華(賽四十五24)；我靠著那加給我力量的，凡事都能作(腓四13)；耶和華是我的力量，是我的詩歌，他也成了我的拯救(賽十二2)。」。 【雅各5:17】
17 以利亞與我們是一樣性情的人，他懇切禱告，求不要下雨，雨就三年零六個月不下在地上。【NIV】Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.
18 他又禱告，天就降下雨來，地也生出土產。【NIV】Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.

38 於是，耶和華降下火來，燒盡燔祭、木柴、石頭、塵土，又燒乾溝裡的水。【NIV】Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench.

【列王記下2:1】
1 耶和華要用旋風接以利亞升天的時候，以利亞與以利沙從吉甲前往。【NIV】When the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal.
2 以利亞對以利沙說：「耶和華差我往伯特利去，你可以在這裡等候。」以利沙說：「我指著永生的耶和華，又敢在你面前起誓，我必不離開你。」於是二人下到伯特利。【NIV】Elijah said to Elisha, "Stay here; the Lord has sent me to Bethel." But Elisha said, "As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you." So they went down to Bethel.

8 以利亞將自己的外衣捲起來，用以打水，水就左右分開，二人走乾地而過。【NIV】Elijah took his cloak, rolled it up and struck the water with it. The water divided to the right and to the left, and the two of them crossed over on dry ground.
9 過去之後，以利亞對以利沙說：「我未曾被接去離開你，你要我為你做什麼，只管求我。」以利沙說：「願感動你的靈加倍地感動我。」【NIV】When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, "Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?" "Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit," Elisha replied.
10 以利亞說：「你所求的難得。雖然如此，我被接去離開你的時候，你若看見我，就必得著；不然，必得不著了。」【NIV】"You have asked a difficult thing," Elijah said, "yet if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours-otherwise, it will not."
11 他們正走著說話，忽有火車火馬將二人隔開，以利亞就乘旋風升天去了。【NIV】As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.
【以西結書37:1-10】
1 耶和華的靈降在我身上。耶和華藉他的靈帶我出去，將我放在平原中；這平原遍滿骸骨。【NIV】The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones.
2 他使我從骸骨的四圍經過，誰知在平原的骸骨甚多，而且極其枯乾。【NIV】He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry.
3 他對我說：「人子啊，這些骸骨能復活嗎？」我說：「主耶和華啊，你是知道的。」【NIV】He asked me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" I said, "Sovereign Lord, you alone know."
4 他又對我說：「你向這些骸骨發預言說：枯乾的骸骨啊，要聽耶和華的話。【NIV】Then he said to me, "Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!
5 主耶和華對這些骸骨如此說：『我必使氣息進入你們裡面，你們就要活了。【NIV】This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.
6 我必給你們加上筋，使你們長肉，又將皮遮蔽你們，使氣息進入你們裡面，你們就要活了；你們便知道我是耶和華。』」【NIV】I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.'
7 於是，我遵命說預言。正說預言的時候，不料，有響聲，有地震；骨與骨互相聯絡。【NIV】So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone.
8 我觀看，見骸骨上有筋，也長了肉，又有皮遮蔽其上，只是還沒有氣息。【NIV】I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.
9 主對我說：「人子啊，你要發預言，向風發預言，說主耶和華如此說：氣息啊，要從四方（原文作風）而來，吹在這些被殺的人身上，使他們活了。」【NIV】Then he said to me, "Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.' "
10 於是我遵命說預言，氣息就進入骸骨，骸骨便活了，並且站起來，成為極大的軍隊。【NIV】So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet-a vast army.
