「約拿書四：1-4」
這事約拿大大不悅，且甚發怒，【NIV】But to Jonah this seemed very wrong, and he became angry.
 2 就禱告耶和華說：「耶和華啊，我在本國的時候豈不是這樣說嗎？我知道你是有恩典、有憐憫的神，不輕易發怒，有豐盛的慈愛，並且後悔不降所說的災，所以我急速逃往他施去。【NIV】He prayed to the Lord, "Isn't this what I said, Lord, when I was still at home? That is what I tried to forestall by fleeing to Tarshish. I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity.
 3 耶和華啊，現在求你取我的命吧！因為我死了比活著還好。」【NIV】Now, Lord, take away my life, for it is better for me to die than to live."
 4 耶和華說：「你這樣發怒合乎理嗎？【NIV】But the Lord replied, "Is it right for you to be angry?"

「約拿書2:1-10」約拿在魚腹中禱告耶和華他的神，【NIV】From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord his God.
 2 說：我遭遇患難求告耶和華，你就應允我；從陰間的深處呼求，你就俯聽我的聲音【NIV】He said: "In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry.
 3 你將我投下深淵，就是海的深處；大水環繞我，你的波浪洪濤都漫過我身。【NIV】You hurled me into the depths, into the very heart of the seas, and the currents swirled about me; all your waves and breakers swept over me.
 4 我說：我從你眼前雖被驅逐，我仍要仰望你的聖殿。【NIV】I said, 'I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.'
 5 諸水環繞我，幾乎淹沒我；深淵圍住我；海草纏繞我的頭。【NIV】The engulfing waters threatened me, the deep surrounded me; seaweed was wrapped around my head.
 6 我下到山根，地的門將我永遠關住。耶和華我的神啊，你卻將我的性命從坑中救出來。【NIV】To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, Lord my God, brought my life up from the pit.
 7 我心在我裡面發昏的時候，我就想念耶和華。我的禱告進入你的聖殿，達到你的面前。【NIV】"When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you, Lord, and my prayer rose to you, to your holy temple.
 8 那信奉虛無之神的人，離棄憐愛他們的主；【NIV】"Those who cling to worthless idols turn away from God's love for them.
 9 但我必用感謝的聲音獻祭與你。我所許的願，我必償還。救恩出於耶和華。【NIV】But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, 'Salvation comes from the Lord.' "
 10 耶和華吩咐魚，魚就把約拿吐在旱地上。【NIV】And the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.
「詩篇六十六：18」我若心裡注重罪孽，主必不聽。【NIV】If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;
 19 但神實在聽見了；他側耳聽了我禱告的聲音。【NIV】but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer.
 20 神是應當稱頌的！他並沒有推卻我的禱告，也沒有叫他的慈愛離開我。【NIV】Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!
「以賽亞書五十九：2」 但你們的罪孽使你們與神隔絕；你們的罪惡使他掩面不聽你們。【NIV】But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

這個故事是來自一位外國人 David J. Pollay 說出來的，想要通過這個故事傳達給世人一個重要的信息，“生命的10%在於你創造了什麼，而剩下那90%，是在於你以什麼心態去接受 (Life is 10% of what you make it, the other 90% is how you take it )“

作者解釋說：「許多人就像垃圾人。他們到處跑來跑去，身上充滿了負面垃圾：充滿了沮喪、憤怒、忌妒、算計、仇恨，充滿了傲慢與偏見、貪心不滿足、抱怨、比較，充滿了見不得人好、愚昧、無知、煩惱、報復、和充滿了失望。隨著心中的垃圾堆積又堆積，他們終需找個地方傾倒；有時候，我們剛好碰上了，垃圾就往我們身上丟....」

「所以，無須介意！只要微笑、揮揮手、遠離他們，然後繼續走我們自己的路就行! 千萬別將他們的負面垃圾接收再擴散給我們的家人、朋友、同事、或其它路人」

【以賽亞25:6-8】6 在這山上，萬軍之耶和華必為萬民用肥甘設擺筵席，用陳酒和滿髓的肥甘，並澄清的陳酒，設擺筵席。On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine- the best of meats and the finest of wines.

7 他又必在這山上除滅遮蓋萬民之物和遮蔽萬國蒙臉的帕子。On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations;

【詩篇20:1-9】
1 願耶和華在你遭難的日子應允你；願名為雅各神的高舉你。May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.

2 願他從聖所救助你，從錫安堅固你，May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.

3 記念你的一切供獻，悅納你的燔祭，（細拉）May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings.

4 將你心所願的賜給你，成就你的一切籌算。May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

5 我們要因你的救恩誇勝，要奉我們神的名豎立旌旗。願耶和華成就你一切所求的！May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests.

6 現在我知道耶和華救護他的受膏者，必從他的聖天上應允他，用右手的能力救護他。Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand.

7 有人靠車，有人靠馬，但我們要提到耶和華我們神的名。Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

8 他們都屈身仆倒，我們卻起來，立得正直。They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.

9 求耶和華施行拯救；我們呼求的時候，願王應允我們！Lord, give victory to the king! Answer us when we call!
